“So Samuel said: “Has The LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying The Voice of The LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams” (I Samuel 15:22).
Many times The Bible highlights sacrifices for sins.
Jesus Was The Ultimate Sacrifice for our sins.
When we love, listen to and obey The Bible, we are doing the same unto Father GOD, our LORD Christ Jesus and Holy Spirit.
Let us find opportunities during this upcoming week to love, listen to and obey The LORD.
It may be in the simplest measure such as bringing a coffee to a loved one or helping in some way around the house.
Let our eyes and ears be inclined toward Heaven to act on His behalf here on earth.
May this week be remarkably blessed in Jesus’ Name.
““And you shall take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle and all that is in it; and you shall hallow it and all its utensils, and it shall be holy. You shall anoint the altar of the burnt offering and all its utensils, and consecrate the altar. The altar shall be most holy. And you shall anoint the laver and its base, and consecrate it” (Exodus 40:9-11).
The LORD had Moses use anointing oil to anoint the tabernacle to make Holy that which housed The LORD at the time.
This is where people may believe a house could or should be anointed with oil.
“And He(, Jesus, our Good Shepherd and Sacrificial Lamb,) took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My Body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is The New Covenant in My Blood, which is shed for you” (Luke 22:19-20).
A friend suggested rather anoint a house with grape juice as a representation of The Blood of Jesus. This is a fascinating and nice outward action of our hearts toward The LORD.
Did you know shepherds would anoint the face of sheep with oil to repel flies from bugging the sheep? The Good Shepherd uses oil to anoint us to repel that which is not of Him.
Father GOD wants us made holy, cleansed, sanctified, set apart, and consecrated for His Heavenly Will to be done on earth.
“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in The Name of The LORD. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and The LORD will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.” (James 5:14-15).
The reason we anoint one another with oil now is that we as Jesus’ Body are now to be made Holy as The House of The LORD, His children and instruments.
Any which way, The LORD sees our hearts and does by Holy Spirt that which is good for us. It all points to Jesus’ Love and Forgiveness at Calvary making us Holy washed by The Blood of The Lamb.
Let us put our emunah (faith, steadfastness and trust) in Father GOD, as we look to Jesus, Whose Resurrection Power lifts us up.
As we carefully read through The Book of Exodus it is remarkable how detail oriented The LORD is. To consider the exact stones to place on breastplates and the precise measurements of The Ark of The Covenant amazes.
We are serving The GOD of The Universe Who Created it, all systems, the world and the smallest particles holding all together. He is The GOD of Order and Purpose. All order and purpose point to Jesus’ love and forgiveness.
As we know GOD cares about the smallest item in life and inanimate, brainless objects such as rocks cry out to Him, how much more does Father GOD care about us and should we praise and worship Him?
May we give pause to The One Who Loves us first. May we remember to love, listen to and obey our KING of Kings, LORD of Lords, Christ Jesus. Let us follow The Way to loose The Heavenly Kingdom here on earth.
We seek first Jesus’ Kingdom and Righteousness. All else thereafter is added unto us. Be still. Know He Is GOD. Lock eyes on Jesus. Walk in faith. Do what He asks of us to do. He care-takes for us.
“O our GOD, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.” Now all Judah, with their little ones, their wives, and their children, stood before The LORD. Then The Spirit of The LORD came upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, in the midst of the assembly. And he said, “Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says The LORD to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but GOD’S” (II Chronicles 20:12-15).
